Increased levels of selenium, cobalt, iodine and copper are needed to help cows improve metabolism at, and around calving, and also to help them cleanse once calved |
Between one and three month post calving, the cow generates a peak of milk and cannot physically eat enough dry matter to maintain her body weight, and so “milks off her back”. This at a time when you want her to stand the bull. |
How can you ensure enough supplementation of selenium, cobalt, iodine and copper during this period? |
Bolus your cows with tracesure Cu/I at drying off. Cows over 550kg will need a double application to ensure enough supplementation. The boluses last up to six months, and hence cover the period leading up to calving, and the period of conception. |
