Some farmers never seem to get the same amounts of lambs born as they do scanned, their lambing period seems to go on and on, and their lambing percentage is quite low. Selenium, cobalt, iodine and copper are all production limiters if not supplemented properly. To maintain pregnancy, selenium has an important role. How can we supplement selenium, cobalt, iodine and copper for the whole of the pregnancy period?

Bolusing with the tracesure range of boluses will help. They last up to six months. Copper can be eliminated or added depending on the breed of ewe and its susceptibility to copper poisoning, or the vet’s opinion as to the likely occurrence of swayback. By bolusing ewes one month pre tupping with boluses from the tracesure range, the sheep are covered for the whole of the pregnancy period for the elements contained in the boluses.
